This page is full of useful information for our members. If there is anything you would like to see added here please contact Sarah with your suggestions.

As stipulated by the Pony Club, in order to take part in ANY Area competitions, all members must have attended at least 3 working rallies in the year of the Championships, one of these may be camp from the previous year. In addition, each horse/pony must also have taken part in at least 3 working rallies. In addition to this we ask that you have represented the Branch and COMPLETEDat a minimum of two Pony Club competitions relevant in height/level that you wish to ride for at Area. When choosing teams preference will be given to the members who have attended regular training sessions that are relevant to the discipline, as well as represented the club at competitions. If you are wanting to represent the branch at the Area Eventing competition then you must attend several training sessions in each of the relevant disciplines i.e. dressage, show jumping and XC.

General Team Requirements & Etiquette - We actively encourage all our members to participate in Pony Club competitions either as individuals or as part of team. Please remember when you are out and about competing that you are representing Chiddingfold Farmers’ and that you should always behave appropriately. If you form part of a team then you are expected to stick with your team throughout the day, being tolerant and supportive of each other and happy to follow any instructions you are given by the team manager. Occasionally when we put forward a team/s for competitions we may be over subscribed, in these circumstances preference will be given to members who support the branch and attend regular training sessions.

We offer a fairly relaxed approach to dress when it comes to our rallies. We hope that this makes life a little easier for everyone, but we do ask that you ensure that you are still neatly turned out with clean tack for all events.

Dress Code For General Rallies & Training: A hat that complies with PC requirements, this should be tagged. Plain, dark or beige coloured jods/breeches (navy, grey, black, brown, tan, beige). A Chidd Farmers’ polo shirt or dark coloured top with a collar, or the Chidd Farmers’ base layer, with the Chidd Farmers’ sweatshirt, these can all be purchased from GG Gear. Clean long boots or jodphur boots with clips, chaps, or gaiters. Gloves and hairnets (for girls). Please no hoodies or coats with hoods and can we lease refrain from advertising your school NSEA team - we are of course in direct competition with them.

Please remember that jewellery is not permitted at any time, and for cross country training/rallies that back protectors are compulsory and that your hat must have a flexible peak.

Tack – Your tack should be clean when attending any rally or training session. Please ensure that you regularly check that the stitching is safe and that items such as stirrups fit correctly. We will make tack checks at all rallies and training sessions.

Chidd Farmers’ has a reputation for being extremely well turned out when competing and we expect all our members to their best to be correctly turned out for training as well.
